Role Overview
We are building a custom, full-suite enterprise ERP platform (CRM, HRMS, and core operational tools) from the ground up, and we need a QA Engineer to own quality end-to-end. You will act as the final quality gate between development and production. This role begins as a part-time contract engagement (2-3 days/week during the initial build phase) and converts into a full-time permanent position by Month 4-5 as module development accelerates.
Responsibilities
- Test Design & Execution: Write and execute structured test suites from functional specs and acceptance criteria, covering edge cases, complex workflows, and negative scenarios.
- Automation Engineering: Build, maintain, and expand an end-to-end regression automation suite (preferably using Playwright with TypeScript or Cypress).
- API & Integration Testing: Validate REST API endpoints, business logic, and data flow prior to UI-level testing.
- RBAC & Security Validation: Systematically test role-based access controls and user permissions across all ERP modules.
- CI/CD & Pipeline Integration: Integrate test suites into GitHub Actions so tests run automatically on pull requests and staging deployments.
- Defect Management & Reporting: Log actionable bug reports with exact reproduction steps, payloads, screenshots, and logs, providing test summary reports for every release.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of web application QA experience with proven success building test automation suites (Playwright or Cypress preferred).
- Strong hands-on experience with API testing (Postman/REST client) and ability to write SQL queries to inspect PostgreSQL database states directly.
- Comfortable using Git (pulling branches, resolving local issues) and basic command-line navigation.
- Exceptional eye for edge cases, permission boundaries, and complex data dependencies.
- Clear and precise bug reporting and proactive communication.
Nice to Have
- Experience with GitHub Actions workflows and spinning up local development environments via Docker.
- Basic load and stress testing using tools like k6 or JMeter.
- Prior exposure to testing ERP, CRM, HRMS, or complex multi-tenant enterprise platforms.
Benefits
- Cell phone reimbursement
- Paid sick time
- Provident Fund
